Wellbeing

at Uraidla Primary School

“We have a strong focus on personal wellbeing for every child”

At Uraidla Primary School we believe that children can only learn when they are feeling secure within themselves and their friendships with others, with a strong sense of belonging to the school community.

For this reason we have a strong focus on personal wellbeing for every child, with Positive Education, Trauma informed Practice, Restorative Justice and solid trusting relationships creating an essential foundation for learning. We follow the Berry Street Education Model, with every class implementing a welcome circle daily, Brain breaks, mindfulness and teaching self-regulation. We use the Zones of Regulation to teach students to recognise their emotional and physical wellbeing, and strategies to successfully manage their ‘Zones’ so they are ready to learn.
